Mac Training Academy is the sister company of the hugely successful Mac Hair and Beauty Salon in Northern Ireland which specializes in hair extensions. Co-Founder and Co-Owner Lynsey Watkins is an award-winning hair extension technician who has transformed thousands of women’s lives with her incredible talent and continues to do so to this very day. Now as a City & Guilds Certified Trainer she can offer you all the skills required to become a qualified successful hair extension technician.

Lynsey initially got in to hair extensions helping a friend with the removals to earn a bit of extra money alongside her full-time role as a bookkeeper. After travelling to London to carry out an intensive 5-day course gaining a worldwide recognised accreditation Lynsey started working from the family home kitchen, but as her reputation and workload increased, too many people were coming in and out of my house, so I decided to have a cabin purpose built in my back garden and had it fitted out in the style of a mini salon.
With an ever-expanding client base Lynsey decided the time was right to leave the security of her full-time job in accounts to be a full-time self-employed hair extension technician. With a lot of hard work and support of my husband in November 2016 we opened our salon after investing over £30,000 in its refurbishment. We are extremely proud to say Mac Hair & Beauty is now recognised as one of the very best in Northern Ireland.
Since opening in November 2016, we have been shortlisted 2 years running for best shopfront, best new business and salon of the year by Newtownabbey Business Awards, Most wanted salon of the year by Northern Ireland Beauty Awards and most recently recognised as a 5 star salon by the Good Salon Guide.
